For years, GMC has been the brand that drivers look to for style and substance. Seamlessly blending luxury and sophistication with prowess and performance, the GMC Sierra 1500 has been the brand’s flagship product. A new model year brings changes and innovations. A redesigned 2027 GMC Sierra 1500 for sale near Milford is here to exceed all expectations.

The new Sierra 1500 features new engines and technologies that set it apart from its most notable competitors, such as Ford, Ram, and Toyota. Today, we’re taking a closer look at the truck that continues to shift the paradigm and defy convention.

New Year, New Engines

For most truck drivers, the ideal vehicle starts and ends with the powertrain. The Sierra 1500 has always provided drivers with plenty of options that offer the best in performance and capability.

GMC has updated its engine lineup for 2027. The Sierra 1500 will still provide Milford drivers with four different engines to choose from, all of which have remarkable capability for tasks ranging from off-roading and occupation use to commuting.

Turbocharged 2.7L “TurboMax” Four-Cylinder

The base engine of the GMC Sierra returns for 2027. A major change with the TurboMax concerns its transmission. In previous model years, it was paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The TurboMax now features the same 10-speed transmission as the other engines, ensuring optimal performance.

5.7L EcoTec V8

The Sierra has introduced two new V8 engines in 2027. The newest addition to the lineup is the 5.7L Ecotec V8. It replaces the 5.3L V8, which was favored by both tradespeople and recreational enthusiasts.

6.6L EcoTec V8

The second all-new V8 to join the Sierra’s powertrain lineup has big shoes to fill. Many drivers enjoyed the 6.2L V8, which was 4WD-exclusive and praised for its capability and performance. The 6.6L V8 promises to elevate the Sierra’s abilities to bold new heights.

3.0 Duramax Turbo-Diesel Six-Cylinder

GM has helped revitalize the diesel-fueled powertrain. The 3.0L Duramax will return in 2027. The high torque, fuel economy, and towing capability will continue. While other brands have abandoned diesel engines in their full-sized pickups, you can always rely on GMC to provide one.

With the introduction of two new engines, the 2027 Sierra 1500 takes performance and capability to new heights. All engines now have the advantage of being paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission. The TurboMax and Duramax remain with the engine lineup. Both of these powertrains offer remarkable fuel economy and are highly capable for towing and payload tasks.

Exciting Infotainment

The 2027 GMC Sierra is much more than performance and capability. In keeping with the tradition of offering their drivers more, the new Sierra offers a brand-new infotainment system that offers the best in connectivity and innovation.

Out with the Old, in With the New

The 2026 GMC Sierra 1500 had two infotainment screens, with sizes varying by trim. Base trims of the Sierra 1500 came with a seven-inch screen, while other models received a larger 13.4-inch version.

For 2027, GMC equips all models with an expansive 16.3-inch screen across all trims. The new system will have many of the same advantages as its predecessor.

  • Wireless connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Google built-in, giving drivers access to music, maps, and more through the world’s most powerful search engine
  • Streaming audio and advanced voice recognition
  • Navigation

Co-Pilot Capability

The main infotainment screen isn’t the only addition for the 2027 model year. The front passenger receives their own infotainment screen, ideal for those long journeys when a co-pilot is required. The 11.5-inch screen will provide access to apps and other features for an enjoyable on-the-road experience.

The Sierra’s new infotainment system has the size and capabilities that all drivers want. It’s also standard on all trims. The inclusion of a front passenger screen allows the Sierra to compete with the Ram 1500. Items like Google built-in give drivers a more intuitive and connected experience.

Off-Roading Excellence

While the pickup truck has always been synonymous with occupational use, many drivers utilize the vehicle class to facilitate adventure. GMC’s AT4X trim isn’t just off-road-ready. It’s equipped with features that let drivers conquer any terrain they see fit.

  • Front and Rear E-Locking Differentials: A class-exclusive that, when combined with different drive modes, gives the AT4X additional traction and control over multiple terrains.
  • New Tires: GMC has recently introduced 35-inch all-terrain tires that enable more daring adventures.
  • Lifted Suspension: The AT4X features a suspension with a two-inch factory lift. Along with the trim’s skid plates, roadblocks and obstacles are now a thing of the past.
  • MultiMatic Jounce Control Dampers: The AT4X’s all-new damping system allows drivers to adapt to any terrain while maintaining control at high speeds.
  • Available AEV Package: The AT4X’s available AEV package will return in 2027. It features more durable skid plates that take underbody protection even farther.

Locking differentials and a damping system give off-roaders more traction and control over their surroundings. The improved AT4X allows off-roaders to utilize the Sierra’s new engines on their next adventure far from the pavement. The lifted suspension, AEV package, and skid plates all return for 2027, much to the delight of off-roaders in Milton.

Unparalleled Luxury

GMC trucks are unique in that they offer a high level of sophistication and refinement to complement their capability. The Denali Ultimate trim features the finest in luxury, comfort, and technology.

  • Panoramic Sunroof: A first for the GMC Sierra. While panoramic sunroofs have always been a highlight of luxury sedans, they are now available in the sophisticated world of GMC trucks.
  • 15-Inch Head-up Display: Stay informed about key driver information without ever taking your eyes off the road.
  • Groundbreaking Audio: The Denali Ultimate sets a new standard with a 16-speaker Bose stereo system. Class-exclusive headrest speakers immerse the driver in concert-quality audio.
  • Refined Upholstery: Some of Denali’s hallmarks return in 2027. These items include leather seating and multiple amenities that offer first-rate comfort.

The Denali Ultimate features many amenities that enhance its luxury. New items, such as an expansive head-up display and panoramic sunroof, make for an informative and refined driving experience.

Driver-Assistance Technology

In addition to the luxury, performance, and connectivity offered by the 2027 GMC Sierra 1500, the brand also focuses on providing technology that drivers seek.

Super Cruise

Select trims have access to Super Cruise, GM’s hands-free, semi-autonomous driving technology.

  • Hundreds of thousands of pre-programmed roads for easier interstate travel
  • Automated land changes
  • Can be used while towing to provide safer, easier cargo transportation

Protection and Oversight

Many of the driver-assistance technologies from previous models will be returning.

  • Adaptive cruise control
  • Automatic emergency braking
  • Forward collision warning
  • Parking assistance
  • Automated high beams

The 2027 GMC Sierra will continue to offer Super Cruise, one of the industry’s most advanced hands-free driving systems. All trims will feature an abundance of driver-assistance technologies that provide Milton drivers with the protection and oversight they need.
