Farmington Hill drivers, we’ve got something you’ll want to see. Meet the Buick Envision. Whether you’ve driven one before or not, it has much to offer and can easily be considered the quintessential compact SUV for drivers in your area. Buick vehicles are known for stylish exteriors, lavish interiors, ample performance, and modern technology features, and it’s safe to say the Envision has you covered on all fronts. Let’s learn more about why the Envision is what you should be looking for at a Buick dealer near Farmington Hills.

A Sizable Cargo Area for Every Occasion

The Buick Envision has excellent cargo space, regardless of how you keep your cabin configured. Whether you need the back seats up because you’re driving with the kids in the back seat or you are the only one in the car transporting furniture or groceries for the summer barbecue, your Envision will offer plenty of cargo space. However, the amount of cargo space you get with your Envision depends on which model year you buy.

What isn’t a difference is that every Envision model provides a generous amount of cargo space that competes well with other compact SUVs on the market. This is great for those who have an eye on a Buick vehicle but are worried about the cargo space associated with a compact SUV. If you were to buy a newer Envision model from 2021 onwards, you’ll always have at least 25.2 cu.ft. of space with all of the seats in use. The 2020 model has slightly more minimum cargo space, with at least 26.9 cu.ft. available at all times. It’s a small difference, and both SUVs offer equally admirable cargo space.

If you live with your family in Farmington Hills and enjoy leisurely outdoor activities, the Envision is for you. Whether you and the gang go down to the Founders Sports Park to toss the ball around or visit the Heritage Park Splash Pad when it’s open for the season, the Envision is built for families. The available cargo space means everyone in the family can bring everything they need for a fun and productive day, from soccer balls to tennis rackets, skateboards to do kickflips at Riley Skate Park, fishing rods, and any other outdoor equipment you need.

A luxury you won’t get with a sedan, that could be an influential factor as to why you’re shopping for an SUV in the first place, is the ability to fold down the back seats when they’re not in use. This results in a significant increase in available cargo space. For the best cargo room available, look for a model like the 2020 Envision, which sports a maximum cargo capacity of 57.3 cu.ft. of space. Later models received a slight adjustment in this regard, with models like 2021 Envision and onwards still reaching a highly respectable and perfectly adequate 52.7 cu.ft. of space.

No matter which era of Buick Envision you buy, the result is always more than ample cargo room. A benefit of the SUV lifestyle is the option of expandability, whether your choice is that of back-row passengers or immense cargo space. The Buick Envision is a great example of the expandability that can be achieved with an SUV. Folding down the rear seats increases cargo space by 113% on the 2020 Envision, with the 2024 Envision providing a 109% bump with the back seats down.

There may be many reasons why you choose to drive with the back seats folded. Maybe you’re not looking for an SUV for its family qualities, or at least not entirely, as you also prefer having time to yourself. That’s why it doesn’t matter what your hobby is in Farmington Hills, whether that’s golfing with your friends at Glen Oaks Golf Course or Franklin Hills Country Club, hiking at Heritage Park, or even if you’re a Detroit Red Wings or Pistons fan who enjoys tailgating with your buddies before the game at Little Caesars Arena. The 2024 Envision can facilitate all the fun in your life, along with all the important stuff, like getting around the city daily for work.

A Powertrain Built for Michigan Travel

Buick Envision powertrains have always been great for their class. Older models, like the 2020 Envision, are available with two potential powertrains, whereas the 2021 model onwards utilizes one. Starting with the powertrains you’ll find in 2020 models, a 2.5L I-4 engine is standard, paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. You’ll also find a turbocharged 2.0L I-4 engine combined with a nine-speed automatic transmission.

From the 2021 Envision onwards, another turbocharged 2.0L I-4 engine is the standard powertrain with a nine-speed automatic transmission. Despite sharing the same displacement, this engine is not exactly the same as the turbocharged engine that came before it. Unlike the 2020 Envision, the new turbocharged I-4 engine in the 2021 Envision and onwards comes standard with FWD, with AWD available as an option. Previously, the 2.0L turbo engine was only available with AWD, which affects fuel economy. It’s a great trade-off, considering that the Envision from 2021 to the present day outputs 228 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. Although it is optional, AWD is preferred here in Michigan, as driving in the snow is quite the experience with traditional FWD or RWD methods. This powertrain’s horsepower and torque provide a punchy driving experience, and you should want nothing less if you live in the greater area of the Motor City, like Farmington Hills.

What makes the Envision a great option is that whether you opt for the standard FWD model or buy one fitted with AWD, you still achieve fuel economy ratings worth raving about. Fuel economy ratings for the 2024 Envision have not been published yet. However, given that ratings haven’t changed at all since the 2021 model, barring one less MPG in the city for the 2023 Envision, it’s safe to assume the 2023 Envision’s EPA-estimated ratings will directly transfer over to the 2024 model.

The 2023 Envision’s fuel ratings are 23 MPG in the city and 31 MPG on the highway (26 MPG combined) with FWD. AWD drops these slightly to 22 MPG in the city and 29 MPG on the highway (25 MPG combined). This means that it doesn’t matter whether you’re driving down Six Mile Road, Eight Mile Road, or on the Interstate East towards Detroit. The Envision won’t be a costly ride in the long run. It’s not hard to see why the Envision’s powertrain is such a compelling feature of this compact SUV.
